The Neograft™ uses a modern hair transplant technique called follicular unit extraction(FUE). With the FUE method using the Neograft™ device, small hair follicle units are removed directly from the donor area eliminating the need for an excision (aka strip method) in the scalp. Unlike other methods of hair replacement associated with pain, linear scars, lengthy downtime and inconsistent results, the Neograft™ procedure is said to be less painful, requires minimal downtime, does not result in a linear scar.
During a Neograft™ hair replacement procedure, a small hand piece is used to gently remove small hair follicle units from the designated donor site. The units are collected and held within the device until they are ready to be implanted through tiny slits created in the scalp in the area of hair loss. Using the NeoGraft™ automated FUE technique; large areas can be treated in one session, reducing the number of required office visits.
“NeoGraft™ automated hair transplant surgery is another technological step forward along with robotic hair transplantation” says Dr. Bruce Marko, owner and medical director of Enhanced Images Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center. “Using NeoGraft™, a physician can treat patients in one single session, unlike the multiple office visits required with some alternative methods. There is much less pain associated with the NeoGraft™ procedure and the recovery and downtime is minimal. Because Neograft™ does not result in a linear scar on the scalp, patients are able wear their hair shorter than they would using alternative hair replacement methods.”
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) with NeoGraft™ offers many advantages to the patient including:
- No scalp excision
- No linear scar on the back of scalp
- Less painful procedure
- Less downtime
